There were many different ideas and exchanges that went down on November 5th at the THRIVE conference; however, we'd like to highlight just a few. Well, three to be exact, that for us, encompass the spirit that was THRIVE.

It's Okay to Not Know
This is an important one because more often than not, we are bombarded with side-eye, and judgment from every angle that tells us that if we don't have it "all figured out" we're obviously defective or abnormal.
One major takeaway is that most journeys are not linear, and it's how you approach the peaks and valleys that says the most about your growth and process. Although there were very established entrepreneurs and influencers who attended THRIVE, there were also nomads, students and travelers who sought direction and inspiration. The beautiful part was feeling comfort in the fact that these feelings of doubt and uncertainty are universal, and knowing that even if you don't have it figured out, you can still take steps, as unsteady as they may feel.
Don't Hide Behind Your Phone
Step onto any train, into any waiting room, or any line and you'll see one recurring theme: noses pointed towards screens. Phones, tablets, Kindles, whatever. Nothing says 'hello' better than a smile, and well, an actual 'hello'. Those are the first steps.
Many of the attendees follow each other on social media, and could probably list at least a few facts about the other person, but had never met outside of the interwebs. During THRIVE they had that chance, and it was awesome to witness. A double-click or comment is a great first step; however, if you want to make meaningful, long-lasting connections, it requires a bit of vulnerability which, naturally seems scary, but the payoff is worth it.

Invest in Yourself
These types of events are few and far between in Spain, and other parts of Europe, and when they come around, there's usually a ticket to be purchased, or even a flight to be taken. It can be discouraging because perhaps financially your situation feels a bit unsteady. We get it.
And to that we say: if you don't take a chance on your dreams and take the risk, how could you expect anyone else to?
Investing in yourself is the first step when it comes to breathing life into your brand because it says loud and clear that you're all in. That type of confidence is contagious. One thing that was so very clear at THRIVE was that everyone who attended, truly wanted to be there. Some took cars, others trains or planes, but they all showed up and in turn, were rewarded for their time and efforts.
